This event sees students participate in a quarter-mile race, all the while pushing a fellow student in a trolley.
And to top it all off, students are required to decorate themselves as well as their trolleys.
This year, students went all out, with trolleys resembling anything from pirate ships to wolves.
SPEED: The trolley race is a quarter-mile long.
Others opted to go green, covering their trolleys with recycled material, while some adorned their trolleys with Barbie dolls.
Third year education students Jerome Charlsen and Carlton Minnaar, who are race veterans, opted to decorate their trolley like a wolf.
BLUE MACHINE:A trolley decorated to look like a wolf.
The duo even went as far as building a customized seat in the trolley for the comfort of the passenger.
Fourth year education student Jeanne van Deventer also showed-off her talent for trolley races, clinching a top spot in her race.
“Every year we have so much fun at the race,” said Jeanne.
RACERS: This racing duo added a number plate to their trolley.
Wellington SRC leader Marna Rorich said this year students went all out for the competition, with many of the onlookers dressed up to match the trolley themes.
“This year we had a huge turnout and everyone had so much fun. This is a really good way to build spirit on campus between all the students,” she said.
